Whoopi Goldberg from The View is under fire for her “irresponsible” behavior as her co-hosts tried to “save” the show’s declining ratings.

Whoopi Goldberg raised the stakes on *The View* once again with a dramatic, yet comedic,

performance during a recent live broadcast. The 69-year-old EGOT-winning actress

and moderator of the talk show revived her well-known bit of “collapsing” at the table during what she deems uninteresting or tedious conversations.

This time, the topic that triggered Goldberg’s theatrical slump was *The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City* (RHOSLC) — a reality TV series that sparked her notable disdain.

The drama began when the panelists dove into a conversation about a particularly controversial episode of *RHOSLC*.

In the episode, the cast read disparaging text messages about each other aloud to one another, creating a tense and uncomfortable atmosphere on-screen.

Legal expert Sunny Hostin called the act “mean” and questioned the ethics of airing such personal conflicts in public.

Alyssa Farah Griffin, *The View*’s Bravo enthusiast, added her perspective, likening the scene to “Mean Girls on steroids” while defending the producers behind the show.

Hostin, perplexed by the situation, asked, “Who does that?” as she tried to process the drama, but Griffin stood by the choice, claiming that reading the messages aloud was done “to address the issue so it doesn’t fester,” all while praising Bravo’s Andy Cohen for orchestrating the tense moment.

However, Goldberg’s reaction to the conversation was nothing short of iconic. As her co-hosts discussed the drama surrounding the *RHOSLC* cast, Goldberg’s expression became one of silent confusion. Her eyelids began to droop, and her posture slouched lower and lower. Eventually, she playfully dropped her head to the Hot Topics table, pretending to nap as her co-hosts continued their animated discussion.

The full collapse didn’t occur until comedian Joy Behar chimed in with her thoughts on the physical appearance critiques that often take place on the show. “People’s plastic surgery is off limits,” Behar remarked, expressing concern over the cast making personal digs about each other’s looks. It was at that moment that Goldberg, unable to hold back her dramatic flair, lowered her head further and gave in to the bit, pretending to be so bored that she had to “sleep” through the entire exchange.

The crowd watched as Goldberg motioned for the producers to cut to a commercial break, waving her hands in the air with her head still on the table in silent protest. Behar, ever the comic, noted, “Whoopi’s trying to get out of here,” as the producers quickly complied and switched to a commercial.

However, Goldberg’s collapse did not go unnoticed, as it became a running gag throughout the show. When actor Ben Stiller joined the panel later for an interview, he decided to address the elephant in the room. “Can I just say something? Are you guys really calling out *The Real Housewives* for showing their texts? We love that! That’s what that show is!” Stiller said, prompting a chuckle from the audience.

Goldberg, who had apparently recovered from her earlier theatrical performance, smiled and briefly responded, making it clear that while she didn’t enjoy the topic of conversation, she was more than willing to engage when it was time to interview their guest.

Goldberg’s “collapses” are not a new phenomenon on *The View*. Over the years, the veteran host has made a name for herself by using her dramatic flair when conversations become overly tedious or uncomfortable. Past notable instances include a similar slump after *The View* guest Michael Eric Dyson made a controversial remark about North Carolina Lieutenant Governor Mark Robinson, and another occasion when Ana Navarro mentioned yet another famous friend. Even when Farah Griffin worked in a reference to pop star Taylor Swift, Goldberg couldn’t resist delivering another hilarious “collapse.”

Goldberg’s antics have become a hallmark of *The View*, a show that thrives on vibrant discussions and lively debates, but also on moments of humor and levity. Her “collapses” not only provide comic relief but also serve as a clear signal to both her co-hosts and the audience when a conversation has gone too far off track.

While *The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City* may have sparked the latest episode of Goldberg’s antics, it’s clear that the show’s unpredictable and often over-the-top nature will continue to provide plenty of fodder for *The View* panelists, whether Goldberg finds it entertaining or not.

With her expressive reactions and willingness to play along with the absurdities of the television world, Goldberg remains a standout figure on *The View* — proving once again that sometimes the most memorable moments are the ones that make us laugh the hardest.
