Jason Kelce even alarmed his mother by criticizing Travis Kelce as “talentless” and vowing to disown him after the Super Bowl.

Jason Kelce found himself caught between loyalty to his former team and his love for his brother, Travis Kelce, during the 2025 Super Bowl.

The retired Philadelphia Eagles center opened up about the emotional turmoil he faced watching his former teammates secure a dominant victory over Travis’ Kansas City Chiefs.

In a heartfelt post on X (formerly Twitter) early Tuesday, Jason reflected on his conflicting feelings, admitting that the game was “odd” for him to watch.

While he was thrilled to see the Eagles succeed, he also sympathized with his younger brother’s loss on football’s biggest stage.

Navigating Conflicting Emotions

“There were a lot of emotions last night, and now that I’ve collected my thoughts, I’ll attempt to share them in the longest tweet ever,” Jason began his message.

Having spent 13 seasons with the Eagles before retiring in 2024, Jason has deep connections with the organization. However, as a proud older brother, he also wanted to see Travis continue his success with the Chiefs.

“I knew I was going to have mixed emotions,” Jason admitted. “On one hand, I wanted what is best for my brother and to see his success. And on the other hand, there are so many people, teammates, and coaches in the Philadelphia Eagles organization that I care deeply about, many of whom I owe my own success to throughout my career.”

While Jason acknowledged his support for Travis, he was also quick to note that his brother does not seek sympathy.

“It has been tough to process these feelings,” he wrote. “Of course, I feel for him and am always rooting for him, but I know he does not need, nor want my pity. He has amassed greatness few on this planet could ever dream of, as has his team, and they should feel pride in their accomplishments this season and in the past.”

Reflecting on the Chiefs’ Legacy

Jason understands all too well what it feels like to fall short in a Super Bowl, having lost to the Chiefs in 2023 when he was still playing for the Eagles. That experience gave him unique insight into how Kansas City’s players are likely feeling in the aftermath of their defeat.

“The shortcomings of that game will sting for a while, but I know those feelings fade,” Jason shared. “What won’t fade is the greatness they have exhibited as a group. This Chiefs team will be remembered as one of the most dominant eras of football ever.”

Jason also took a moment to recognize the Chiefs’ achievements in recent years, including their back-to-back Super Bowl wins in 2023 and 2024.

Praising the Eagles’ Victory

Despite his sympathy for Travis, Jason made sure to celebrate the Eagles’ championship win. He gave a special shoutout to quarterback Jalen Hurts and head coach Nick Sirianni for leading the team to victory.

“It is extremely difficult for a team in the NFL to have enough talent, coaching, fortune, and character to win a Super Bowl,” he wrote. “The character and swagger of this Eagles team was something truly special to behold. A true representation of the toughness and grit that makes Philadelphia what it is. Well done, fellas. Well f—ing done.”

A Family Affair at the Super Bowl

Jason watched the game from a VIP suite at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, accompanied by his wife, Kylie Kelce, and his parents, Donna and Ed Kelce. Also present in the suite was Travis’ girlfriend, Taylor Swift, who has been a strong supporter of her boyfriend throughout the season.

While Jason processed his mixed emotions, Travis kept his post-game comments brief. Speaking to reporters in the locker room, he acknowledged the team’s struggles during the 40-22 loss.

“We haven’t played that bad all year,” Travis admitted. “You don’t lose like that without everything going bad.”

Despite the disappointment, Travis and his teammates remained resilient, with the tight end emphasizing, “We were always gonna fight, but we just couldn’t find that spark or momentum.”

Taylor Swift Supports Travis After the Loss

Swift has yet to publicly comment on the game, but sources say she has been offering Travis comfort following the tough loss.

“Taylor knows Travis took this loss very hard, but she couldn’t be more proud of him regardless of the outcome,” an insider told Page Six.

While the Super Bowl may not have ended the way Travis had hoped, Jason’s message made it clear that, win or lose, the Kelce brothers continue to support each other—both on and off the field.
