Ana Gasteyer caused chaos on TODAY by admitting she was afraid of Jenna, begging to be seated away from her: “Please get me away from her…”

Ana Gasteyer had a hilarious reaction when Jenna Bush Hager tried to get her to spill details about Saturday Night Live’s upcoming 50th-anniversary celebration.

The former SNL star took a page out of Cynthia Erivo’s playbook and literally ran away from the Today host rather than answering the burning question.

Jenna Pushes for SNL 50th Anniversary Details

During a recent episode of Today With Jenna & Friends, Bush Hager brought up the rumors that Erivo and Ariana Grande may be opening the Oscars with a Wicked musical number.

She referenced an Access Hollywood interview where Erivo was asked about the speculation

and jokingly ran away from the interviewer, exclaiming, “I’m not doing this, goodbye!”

Bush Hager noted, “But if she says, ‘I’m not doing this,’ that means something’s happening,” before shifting her focus to Gasteyer, a former SNL cast member known for her comedic timing and unforgettable characters.

Curious about what SNL has planned for its milestone anniversary, Bush Hager asked, “So, Saturday Night Live 50th—what’s happening?”

Gasteyer, clearly not ready to reveal any secrets, mimicked Erivo’s response, saying, “I’m not doing this! I’m not doing this!” before jumping up from her seat and literally running away from Bush Hager on set.

The Today host playfully chased after her, laughing as she continued to press for details. “No, what’s happening? Come on, I heard you’re in it!” she teased.

Gasteyer, staying in character, repeated, “I’m not doing this!” before finally returning to her seat.

Gasteyer’s Take on the SNL Anniversary Plans

Once she settled back down, Gasteyer gave a slightly more serious response about the highly anticipated SNL 50th-anniversary special.

“The show is characteristically created all within that weekend, so as much as there are things that we kind of know of in advance—we know that there’s an event, save the date,” she explained.

While she didn’t give away any major surprises, she did say that she’s “looking forward” to reconnecting with her former castmates and reliving old memories from her time on the iconic late-night sketch show.

Paula Pell Teases a Special Reunion

Gasteyer wasn’t the only SNL alum in the Today studio that day. She was later joined by Girls5eva star and former SNL writer Paula Pell, who added some exciting speculation about what fans might see in the anniversary special.

According to Pell, audiences may get a brand-new Debbie Downer sketch—one of SNL’s most beloved recurring bits. She also hinted that Gasteyer and Will Ferrell might revive their legendary Marty and Bobbi Mohan characters, the hilariously offbeat musical duo who were known for their overly enthusiastic performances.

More SNL Stars to Join Today With Jenna & Friends

Gasteyer is just one of many SNL stars making appearances on Today With Jenna & Friends. This week, fans can expect to see more comedy favorites guest hosting the show, including Mikey Day, Chloe Fineman, and Cheri Oteri.

As SNL gears up for its 50th anniversary, excitement continues to build over what surprises the show will have in store. And while Gasteyer may not have revealed much, her playful reaction only adds to the anticipation. If her on-set antics are any indication, the SNL 50th-anniversary celebration is sure to be a night full of laughter, reunions, and unforgettable moments.
